Dear Praying Friends,

    Hosting a youth camp in French Polynesia is a nightmare of bureaucracy. Our amazing Tahitians worked countless hours and put it all together in three short weeks. The government inspector, in her rigorous oversight of the camp, expressed her complete amazement at this accomplishment, and more. She was also amazed that we offered a great program, really good food, and transportation all as a free gift to the 43 children who came. But her final observation was the most remarkable. She indicated that our camp was the first ever Christian camp in this nation open to all children, without reference to their denomination. Finally, she marveled at the quality of the Bible teaching. She asked, “Who is Evanelia Tahiti?” My reply is simply, you all who read this letter, who prayed for this camp, and who supported us. Thank you.
     From the start, we were blessed with a leadership team of seven from New Brunswick, Canada. Luc and Lauza Picard, their children Jacob, Mika, Eva, and Abby, and their niece Charlie. Together they prepared the activity and teaching program for the camp, and then executed their plan with excellence. I kept saying to myself, “These guys are professionals.” In particular, their Bible lessons and discussion groups were clear and rich in solid biblical content. As I roamed from small group to small group and listened to their questions and interactions, I was in a state of continual thanksgiving to the Lord. For the first time for these children, they had someone who could answer their hard and sometimes heartbreaking questions, and who could do so with Christ’s love…
